About day-lab
day-lab was launched in February 2005 by me, Amy Shutt.
I run day-lab out of my tiny apartment in The Garden District in Baton Rouge , Louisiana where I live with my 9 year old daughter Logan, 10 year old pomeranian Bailey, and two really young hermit crabs named Ed and Arwin.
When I started day-lab I had just turned 30 and was in my last year of college pursuing a degree in Philosophy (concentration Religious Studies) with minors in Art History and Photography. It just happened to explode into a full fledge business that keeps me very busy since I have graduated. Like the major and minors of my degree, day-lab is also a reflection of my overlapping interests that never cease to evolve or change direction.
The unique items featured on day-lab are produced by super talented independent designers and small companies. I make it a point daily to be in constant search of new and interesting products that can not be found in every gift store. I very much hope these efforts lend to the eclectic and uncommon atmosphere of day-lab.
